Voll-Damm Festival de Jazz de Barcelona – HORACIO FUMERO SOLO, Una vida entre cuerdas
Horacio Fumero doublebass and monologues.
Being a double bass player means, above all, knowing how to adapt to the language of very diverse musicians. Horacio Fumero has demonstrated this enough, but in recent years he has also done it with the new generations of Catalan jazz, as is the case with this second installment of duos from his Portrait of an Artist within the Jazz Festival from Barcelona, with trombonist and singer Rita Payés and pianist Xavi Torres. “We have had a very good relationship for years, almost family, and we always wanted to do things together”, says Fumero of musicians who are his children’s age and who were his students. “They are people who climb with great strength, with many ideas and a lot of drive. In fact, with Rita as leader I have played again at European festivals where I had been before with Tete.» Horacio, Rita, Xavi: second trio of aces at the Jamboree in the Artist Portrait dedicated to Horacio Fumero.
