Horacio Fumero, protagonist of the Artist Portrait of the Barcelona Jazz Festival, will perform his first concert of the three scheduled at the Jamboree within his Portrait with a double duo with guitarist Pedro Javier González and saxophonist Bill McHenry. “They are two mainstays of our scene”, explains the double bass player. “I’ve known them for a long time: with Pedro Javier, for example, we accompanied Toti Soler almost 50 years ago, and Bill made his first bolo in Barcelona with me, the day Bill Clinton won the election, in 1992.” A musical relationship, therefore, from a long time ago, dense and full of exchange of experiences – “Pedro Javier introduced me to flamenco, and I introduced him to the world of improvisation” -, which will oscillate between the most contemporary jazz and flamenco, mainly as a duo but also at some point with all three on stage.
