WOLFGANG MUTHSPIEL TRIO - Jamboree Jazz

Wolfgang Muthspiel guitar, Larry Grenadier double bass, Jorge Rossy drums.

The Austrian Wolfgang Muthspiel (1965) is one of the most influential guitarists of his generation. Trained at the New England Conservatory and Bostonian Berklee College of Music, Muthspiel made his debut in the mid-1990s at Gary Burton’s quintet, a no doubt gala start. He lived in New York and went to work in the service of figures of various styles: from Paul Motian to Yossou N’Dour, through Trilok Gurtu, Maria Joao, Dave Liebman, Gary Peacock, Dhafer Youssef, Peter Erskine and a long etcetera. He currently lives in Vienna. As a creator, he has had the collaboration of illustrious people such as Brad Mehldau, Brian Blade, Ambrose Akinmusire and Jorge Rossy, among others. He has also collaborated with groups such as the famous MGT trio (Wolfgang Muthspiel, Slava Grigoryan and Ralph Towner) and has recorded on labels such as ECM. At the Jamboree he will perform with one of his most celebrated groups, Wolfgang Muthspiel Trio, a formation built from the complicity between its integrated, melodious, atmospheric, cadencious and, above all, excellent.
