The Israeli guitarist Yoav Eshed is a well-known, award-winning jazz musician who began playing music at the age of just three. As a precocious pianist, he soon mastered the repertoire of Haydn, Bach and Mendelssohn, but at the age of 13, he swapped the piano for the guitar. He was awarded a grant for training in the USA, at Berklee College of Music in Boston. When he completed his studies, he went to live in New York, where he carved out a career playing jazz alongside musicians like Ari Hoening and Dayna Stephens. Eshed has played at famous clubs in the Big Apple, such as the Blue Note, Birdland, Dizzy’s and Smalls, and at festivals like Montreux, Monterrey, Athens and the Red Sea festival in Israel. At the Jamboree, he will play in a trio with two accompanists capable of matching his extraordinary standards.
