JAZZ WORKSHOP AND MUSIC FESTIVAL
FROM JULY 31 TO 6 AUGUST OF 2019
The Global Music Foundation is a musical celebration, that combines styles such as jazz, blues and Latin music, in a dazzling series of concerts, workshops and sessions “after hours”, with world-class artists.
The legendary jazz saxophonist Charles McPherson, the jazz singer and songwriter Carla Cook, former Jazz Messenger Jean Toussaint, New York piano giant Bruce Barth, choral magician Pete Churchill, multi-instrumentalist Percy Pursglove, and the illustrious musician and composer Perico Sambeat, are some of the artists who starred in the 2019 edition. Other artists and teachers such as Albert Bover, Mark Hodgson, Francesco Petreni, Stephen Keogh among others also collaborated in this project.
The spectacular setting, the team of artists and excellent teachers and the varied schedule of activities, made this meeting an unforgettable experience for all participants.
The workshops
What do GMF workshops include?
FROM JULY 31 TO 6 AUGUST OF 2019
The participants were part of supervised rehearsals, group workshops, joint sessions and daily classes taught by an exceptional list of internationally acclaimed artists and teachers.
They also participated in a stimulating program of activities to develop musical skills and concentration: choir, samba, pulse training, ear training, coordination and movement.
In addition, all of them were able to enjoy for free the concerts offered by faculty members and guest artists.
Finally, Jam Sessions were held daily at the Glacier bar, guided by artists and other guests, where participants could play their favorite songs or be challenged musically, all in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
