A product of Portland State University and USC Thornton School of Music\u2014where she studied under <strong data-start=\"5273\" data-end=\"5290\">Vince Mendoza<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"5292\" data-end=\"5310\">Patrice Rushen<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"5316\" data-end=\"5336\">Russell Ferrante<\/strong>\u2014<strong data-start=\"5337\" data-end=\"5354\">Nicole McCabe<\/strong> has quickly established herself as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary jazz. Her live performances are intimate yet expansive, drawing audiences into a sound world that feels both deeply personal and genre-defying.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5587\" data-end=\"6129\">Her accolades speak to an artist on the rise. In 2022, her quintet took first place at the prestigious Keep an Eye International Jazz Award at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she also won Best Non-Conservatory Student Soloist. That same year, she received the Jeff Clayton Memorial New Note Award from the Los Angeles Jazz Society. She has since performed at the Kennedy Center as part of <strong data-start=\"5984\" data-end=\"6000\">Betty Carter<\/strong>\u2019s Jazz Ahead, studying under acclaimed pianist and producer <strong data-start=\"6061\" data-end=\"6076\">Jason Moran<\/strong>, who later produced her 2026 album <em data-start=\"6112\" data-end=\"6126\">Color Theory<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6131\" data-end=\"6701\">A seasoned international performer, <strong data-start=\"6167\" data-end=\"6184\">Nicole McCabe<\/strong> tours Europe two or more times a year, appearing at some of the continent\u2019s most respected stages and festivals, including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Bimhuis, Jamboree, G Live Lab and Logomo (Finland), Teatro Bibiena (Italy), Victoria Eugene Club, Birdland Jazz Club, Jazz Studio N\u00fcrnberg, and Le Singe and Moods (Switzerland). She is the kind of artist European venues actively seek out\u2014one with a distinct voice, a growing international profile, and the live command to make every room feel like a destination.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6703\" data-end=\"7371\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong data-start=\"6703\" data-end=\"6720\">Nicole McCabe<\/strong>\u2019s discography reflects an artist who never stands still. From her 2020 debut <em data-start=\"6798\" data-end=\"6825\">Introducing Nicole McCabe<\/em> to the West Coast-inspired <em data-start=\"6853\" data-end=\"6865\">Landscapes<\/em> (Fresh Sound New Talent), the electronic solo work <em data-start=\"6917\" data-end=\"6933\">A Song to Sing<\/em> (Colorfield Records, 2025), and her latest <em data-start=\"6977\" data-end=\"6991\">Color Theory<\/em> (2026)\u2014featuring collaborators <strong data-start=\"7023\" data-end=\"7041\">Adam O&#8217;Farrill<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"7043\" data-end=\"7064\">Christie Dashiell<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"7070\" data-end=\"7086\">Justin Brown<\/strong>\u2014each release pushes her sound into new territory.
