The MASiMAS Festival 2026 presents Francesco Petreni<\/strong> within the framework of the Global Music Foundation (GMF)<\/strong> with Rhythm Extravaganza<\/em>, a project that places rhythm at the center of the musical discourse. The concert is a celebration of Latin jazz in dialogue with classic and modern jazz, conceived as an intense, colorful, and deeply evocative experience, where rhythmic energy and tonal richness shape an open and expansive musical language.<\/p>\n

Grammy-nominated drummer, percussionist, and composer Francesco Petreni<\/strong> is a leading figure on the international jazz and Latin music scene. Throughout his extensive career, he has collaborated with some of the great names in contemporary jazz and has performed at hundreds of festivals and concerts across Europe, Cuba, and Brazil. His discography includes more than seventy albums\u2014ten of them as leader or co-leader\u2014and reflects a path defined by versatility, rhythmic exploration, and a deep connection to Afro-American and Latin American traditions.<\/p>\n

For this occasion, Petreni<\/strong> is joined by a top-level quartet featuring Will Bonness<\/strong> on piano, Perico Sambeat<\/strong> on alto saxophone, and Mark Hodgson<\/strong> on double bass.
