It is therefore no surprise that he is the most recorded contemporary jazz pianist of our time, with thirty-five albums as a leader and hundreds more as a sideman, across several major record labels worldwide.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1767\" data-end=\"2454\">David Hazeltine has been a mainstay of the vibrant New York jazz scene for decades, where in his youth he was mentored by trumpeter <strong data-start=\"1899\" data-end=\"1913\">Chet Baker<\/strong>. Inspired by postwar greats such as <strong data-start=\"1950\" data-end=\"1968\">Charlie Parker<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1973\" data-end=\"1990\">John Coltrane<\/strong>, he plays with a solid and nuanced expression that has continually renewed and reinterpreted the way traditional jazz can be performed. His style and expression have taken him to the world\u2019s most prestigious stages, from <strong data-start=\"2212\" data-end=\"2240\">New York\u2019s Carnegie Hall<\/strong> to festivals across the globe.
