We have organized two short concert series to pay tribute to them and to the timeless music they left behind, which remains very much alive through their legacy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1218\" data-end=\"1641\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The musicians participating in this series maintain a direct or indirect connection with these figures, whether through friendship, having shared the stage, or in some cases, having been part of their bands. Each concert offers a different approach: depending on the project, the repertoire focuses on the universe of <strong>John Coltrane<\/strong> or <strong>Miles Davis<\/strong>, or on their influence through other composers associated with their groups.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"43\" data-end=\"373\"><strong>Rick Margitza Quartet<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Rick Margitza<\/strong> tenor sax \u00b7 <strong>Will Barry<\/strong> piano \u00b7 <strong>Jeremy Brown<\/strong> bass \u00b7 <strong>Stephen Keogh<\/strong> drums<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1013\" data-end=\"1422\"><strong>Rick Margitza<\/strong> is internationally recognized as one of the leading jazz saxophonists of today. After spending time in New Orleans, where he graduated, <strong>Margitza<\/strong> moved to New York in 1989 and soon began performing and recording with some of the most important names in jazz, including <strong>McCoy Tyner, Bobby Hutcherson, Tony Williams, Eddie Gomez, Chick Corea, Maria Schneider, Dave Douglas<\/strong>, and <strong>Miles Davis<\/strong>\u2019 band.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1424\" data-end=\"1637\">He has led his own groups in performances at clubs, concert halls, and prestigious festivals worldwide. His ten albums as a leader document the evolution of his playing style as well as his growth as a composer.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1639\" data-end=\"1746\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong>Margitza<\/strong> has also composed works for symphony orchestra, including two symphonies and a saxophone concerto.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Anniversary, John Coltrane and Miles Davis The year 2026 marks the centenary of the birth of two of the most important musicians and innovators in jazz history.
