Their sound is a vibrant fusion of funk, jazz, and electronic influences\u2014a play between warmth and sharp contrast\u2014carried by the distinctive and multifaceted voice of frontwoman <strong>Marissa M\u00f6ller<\/strong>. Together with <strong>Jan Lammert<\/strong> (keyboards), <strong>Julian Schwiebert<\/strong> (bass), and <strong>Lambert Windges<\/strong> (drums), <strong>MOLASS<\/strong> create a \u201cgroovy fairytale\u201d that balances hypnotic intimacy with bold, unexpected twists. Inspired by artists such as <strong>Hiatus Kaiyote, Moses Sumney, and The Alan Parsons Project<\/strong>, the band consistently breaks stylistic boundaries and invites listeners into immersive, unconventional sonic worlds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>MOLASS<\/strong> first gained wider attention in 2021, when they won second place at Future Sounds, the renowned jazz newcomer competition of the Leverkusener Jazztage. In 2022, they released their second studio album, <em>Piece Of Mass<\/em>, followed by the EP <em>Heaviness &amp; Hopes<\/em> in 2023, further refining their unmistakable sonic identity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In 2024, <strong>MOLASS<\/strong> achieved a major breakthrough on social media, with their viral Instagram and TikTok reels surpassing 5 million views and introducing the band to a rapidly growing international audience. That same year, they embarked on their first successful UK tour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In June 2025,<strong> MOLASS<\/strong> was awarded second prize at the Montreux Jazz Festival Band Contest, held in cooperation with Thomann and Shure.
