Franki Ramos is a young saxophonist and flutist from Alicante who has burst onto the Barcelona scene with his first album, ‘Spaces Espècies’, based on the exploratory roots of European jazz, but with influences from music from the south —flamenco, Latin— and the rock. Not surprisingly, Ramos has been a member of proposals such as Juanito Makandé, El Canijo de Jerez, Reincidentes and Carlos Sarduy. ‘Spaces Espècies’ gathers Ramos’ experience in various scenes —earthquake, from the roots— and at the same time his training as a jazz player. Ramos has worked with Giulia Valle, Fèlix Rossy, Toni Vaquer, Gorka Benitez, Perico Sambeat and the Liceu Jazz Grup, among others, and has received distinctions from festivals such as Música Viva (Almería) and Jazz de Balaguer, and from the Conservatori del Liceu itself. . “If Fran has something and her music is a lot of truth flowing in her veins, pure music,” says Gorka Benitez.
