Born in Havana, Sarduy is undoubtedly one of the most active and multi-faceted musicians on the city scene. A trumpeter who has already spent some years become a landmark in Barcelona jazz. A versatile and with a prolific career, Sarduy is known for his collaborations with Chucho and Bebo Valdés, Steve Coleman, David Murray, Esperanza Spalding, Buika, Mariza, Ainhoa Arteta and Ojos de Brujo, among others, and also for his excellent solo career.
The Jazz cellar of Plaça Reial is another year in the Grec Festival of Barcelona, with a selection of great artists who, like Carlos Sarduy, offer us a sample of the Jazz’s future on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
