Since the publication of his first album “Yesterday’s Sun” (Fresh Sound), which led him to present it at the Dizzy’s Club of the Lincoln Center in New York for four nights and at the Barcelona Jazz Festival in l’Auditori, Xavier Casellas published two other albums, “Unguarded Smiles” and “Les Mil Cares” (Quadrant Records). During these last times, Casellas has also presented his work in various emblematic venues of New York City such as Smalls Jazz Club, Cornelia St. Café, Mezzrow or Zinc Bar, among others…

In this concert he will be presenting his newest album “In a Sentimental Move”, recorded in Brooklyn and recently published by Fresh Sound label.

In the album we find ten songs by great composers such as Michel Legrand, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Stephen Sondheim, James Taylor or Paul Simon…, in intimate format to piano and voice duet with the Argentine pianist and composer Emilio Solla, twice nominated for the Grammys -this year as the best instrumental arrangement, for the theme “La Novena” from his latest album “Ports”. Other luxury guests in this album are Romero Lubambo on guitar, John Ellis, on tenor saxophone and bass clarinet, and Julien Labro on bandoneon.
