Penélope

Until now, in an experimental and nonconformist way, Penélope has extended its branches in every direction. The band has always sought to bring its formula of Spanish guitars and sharp lyrics into a wide range of musical genres, addressing themes of everyday life and personal conflicts, often with a tone of tragic irony.

But in “Penélope y tal”, the band strips its sound down to the essentials. Throughout the album, the guitars of Pablo-Hans and Eloi engage in lively dialogue, while the voices of Aitana and Magí alternate and accompany each other, all supported by a bass and drums —played by Josep— that seem to want to sing as well.

The stories told in the lyrics of this new album also speak of love, disappointment, and even seasonal labour exploitation. This time, however, they come from a more intimate place of self-reflection and with a renewed desire to look toward the future with hope.

Agosto – Melancholic Summer Pop

Agosto is a band founded by María and Nacho, from Alicante and León. They started four years ago with the singles Jeanne Dielman and Azul Azul (featuring Claudio Montana), songs that are already considered potential new classics.

Their sound blends guitar riffs, melodic basslines, and delicate lyrics that evoke melancholic landscapes and the warmth of summer. For live shows, the duo expands with bass and drums, although they originally composed their songs alone in the living room of the apartment they shared in Madrid while studying.

In a short time, they have developed a distinctive sound—sometimes dark, yet bright and hopeful. If you enjoy bands like Alvvays, Clairo, Slowdive, or Beach House, you’ll love Agosto. With their debut album Un Narciso Atropellado already released, they are now working on their second full-length album, due at the end of 2025, with the first singles Cielo and Otra vez pensando en todo esto already out.
