Ronald Baker was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on November 21, 1968. After studying trumpet at the Baltimore School for the Arts, he earned a degree in music education at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. There he studied with great artists such as Donald Byrd, Kenny Davis, Wendell Logan, JJ Johnson, Jon Faddis, George Cables and many others. Arriving in France in 1992, it did not take long for him to establish himself as a quality trumpeter and a good singer. Ronald has participated in most of the major jazz festivals in France and has played with great artists such as Lou Donaldson, Curtis Fuller, Red Halloway, Jesse Davis and Antonio Hart, to name a few. Ronald currently tours with the Michele Hendricks Septet, Liz McComb Brassland and his own quintet, which has been active for over 22 years. In addition, he has been teaching at a private jazz school for 13 years.
Tony Match is a French drummer, musical director and music producer. For over twenty-five years, he has worked with the world’s best jazz musicians, both as a music producer, musician and musical director. From Fred Wesley, Pee Wee Ellis, Ernie Watts, Scott Hamilton and Paul Jackson (The Headhunter) to Richard Galliano or Rick Margitza, Tony participates in many projects involving jazz, soul and funk icons such as Martha High or Denise King. He has also performed with Omar, Vanessa Haynes (Incognito), Randy Brecker, Lionel Loueke, Flavio Boltro, Ulf Wakenius, and has composed with Flora Purim and Mozez (Zero7), to name a few. Tony Match has composed, produced and mixed over two hundred tracks for major and independent labels, including albums for Deutsche Grammophon and Universal.
