SWANGO PRESENTATION
Swango is the second album by Matías Míguez, an Argentine bassist and composer who has been living in Catalonia for the past 23 years.
The album combines the soundscapes of jazz and tango through a vision shaped by improvisation. The eight pieces that make up the record share an emotional intensity conveyed through their melodies, balancing a melancholic aesthetic with the intense rhythm of contemporary metropolises.
Swango is best experienced as an indivisible work, where the diversity of musical approaches reveals a rich, hybrid cultural background filled with emotional snapshots that the composer gradually unfolds throughout this journey.
Matías Míguez, on electric bass and composition, is committed to the handcrafted creation of an original and distinctive concept, driven by the chemistry of an outstanding group of musicians: Pere Miró on saxophone, Alejandro Di Costanzo on piano, and David Xirgu on drums.
