MOLASS is not your ordinary band; they are a movement redefining the neo-soul genre. Their sound is a vibrant fusion of funk, jazz, and electronic influences—a play between warmth and sharp contrast—carried by the distinctive and multifaceted voice of frontwoman Marissa Möller. Together with Jan Lammert (keyboards), Julian Schwiebert (bass), and Lambert Windges (drums), MOLASS create a “groovy fairytale” that balances hypnotic intimacy with bold, unexpected twists. Inspired by artists such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Moses Sumney, and The Alan Parsons Project, the band consistently breaks stylistic boundaries and invites listeners into immersive, unconventional sonic worlds.

MOLASS first gained wider attention in 2021, when they won second place at Future Sounds, the renowned jazz newcomer competition of the Leverkusener Jazztage. In 2022, they released their second studio album, Piece Of Mass, followed by the EP Heaviness & Hopes in 2023, further refining their unmistakable sonic identity.

In 2024, MOLASS achieved a major breakthrough on social media, with their viral Instagram and TikTok reels surpassing 5 million views and introducing the band to a rapidly growing international audience. That same year, they embarked on their first successful UK tour.

In June 2025, MOLASS was awarded second prize at the Montreux Jazz Festival Band Contest, held in cooperation with Thomann and Shure. Their latest EP, Wait For It, released in November 2025, continues their artistic journey with uncompromising groove, experimentation, and emotional depth.
