La naissance de la mer is perhaps Lucia Fumero’s most personal project. It is an exploration of memories and the future, and of the connections between them, through a style that has been described as Modern Obscure Music (whose acronym, MOM, we do not believe is coincidental).
According to the promotional notes accompanying the resulting EP, these sounds are “deep explorations of a distillation of intimacy.” Joined by Borja Ruiz and Juan R. Berbín, Fumero presents deeply moving music, filled with tenderness and mystery and, we might dare say, with questions that do not need to be answered.
Dedicated to the memory of her mother and to her son, Fumero invites listeners on a journey that encourages experiencing reality “with kindness,” while also “embracing life with compassion and a sense of slowness.”
