Altertango presents their eighth studio album: La saga dels marges

The group Altertango presents its eighth studio album, La saga dels marges, recorded at Sol de Sants studios during two intense sessions in mid-February 2026.

The album brings together 12 compositions organized into three chapters that reflect the group’s artistic identity and its dialogue with the present.

The first chapter, the ADN Suite, consists of four pieces created in collaboration with renowned musicians and key figures of contemporary tango such as Julio Coviello and Pablo Gignoli (bandoneons), Edgardo González (guitar and artistic production support), and singer Alejandro Guyot.

The suite develops the idea that the identity of 21st-century tango is nourished above all by the very musicians and music that shape this generation. The instrumental triptych “Adenina,” “Guanina,” and “Timina,” together with the vocal piece “No hay margen para la fe,” explore endings and new beginnings within a dystopian context, capturing the group’s creative zeitgeist.

The second chapter is dedicated to Catalonia, where the members of the group currently live. It includes works inspired by Catalan language and culture such as Milonga de la ginesta, performed by Magalí Sare, the instrumental pieces “Somni” and “Xiuxiuejar,” and “Passió estranya,” inspired by a book by Marina Garcés and performed by Josefina Rozenwasser Marín.

The third chapter gathers compositions by the different members of the group: Franco Niella with Olalla on “Claustrofòbia,” Ezequiel Acosta with Olalla on “Granís,” Josefina Rozenwasser Marín on “Los que volvieron de la sombra,” and another composition by Ezequiel Acosta, “Línia roja.” As a bonus track, the album includes a work by Diego Vainer, a leading figure in Argentine experimental electronics and a close collaborator of the group since its beginnings.

The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Raúl Cuevas. Artwork by Borja Lo, photographs by Magui Pichinini, and video by Lula Breton.

La saga dels marges confirms Altertango as one of the strongest and most contemporary proposals in today’s tango scene, capable of weaving together tradition, experimentation, and territory.
