A journey to New Orleans led by the virtuoso clarinetist and saxophonist Louis Ford, exploring its sounds and rhythms through one of the musicians most deeply committed to preserving the city’s musical tradition.
A member of the Preservation Hall Legacy Program, Louis belongs to the fifth generation of New Orleans musicians. His father, Clarence Ford, was Fats Domino’s saxophonist for 30 years.
He studied with Ellis Marsalis and Kid Jordan at Loyola University, where he earned a degree in Music Education.
Louis has performed with musicians such as Harry Connick Jr., Danny Barker, Wallace Davenport, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, among others.
He now presents a tour accompanied by banjo player and vocalist Carlos Childe and his band. A concert that captures the true heartbeat of New Orleans, filled with rhythm, passion, and soul.
