Pianist, organist, singer, composer, lyricist, former traveling companion of Steve Miller; collaborator of figures such as Eric Clapton, Charlie Watts and the Rolling Stones; living legend of popular music of our time. His name: Ben Sidran, a musician who has worked in the field of jazz, blues and rock, whether as a session musician or as a producer of records for Van Morrison, Georgie Fame and Ricky Lee Jones, among others. As a solo artist, he has also had a brilliant career, with more than 50 years of experience and 35 albums, which have left their mark on several generations of music lovers. Sidran performed for the first time at the Jamboree in 1999, that is, more than 25 years ago; a quarter of a century settling in the basement of Plaça Reial and giving memorable nights to the fan; “There are artists whose existence already justifies a deep learning of Shakespeare’s language: Dylan, of course, with the Nobel Prize behind him, but also Ray Davies, Stuart Murdoch, Donald Fagen, Joni Mitchell, Morrissey and many others. This list should also include, without a doubt, the pianist, singer, composer, producer, writer and music critic Ben Sidran, an admirable and surprising man.” Words by journalist Fernando Neira in the highly recommended series ‘Un disco al día’ and to which we subscribe from beginning to end.
