Charlotte Dos Santos — A sonic journey of soul, Brazil and dreams

Charlotte Dos Santos vocals · Pablo Torti saxophone · Maite Arregi keyboards · Jesus Bastias bass · Nicolas Duran drums

Vocalist, composer, and producer Charlotte Dos Santos, of Norwegian and Brazilian roots, builds a musical universe that is as sophisticated as it is hypnotic, capable of captivating the listener from the very first moment. Her sound blends warm jazz harmonies, vibrant Brazilian rhythms, and contemporary R&B with subtle elegance. The result is a rich, deep, irresistibly melodic soundscape: enveloping textures, delicate orchestrations, and a voice that moves between the most sincere intimacy and a dreamlike, light-soaked flight.

Her creative universe takes shape even before she touches an instrument. As she explains herself: “When I write music, everything happens inside my head. I hear the shapes, the melodic lines, and I imagine the feelings they carry. I always want to add color to the canvas.”

This is a territory where bossa nova meets soul, where classical elegance converses with carefully crafted contemporary production, and where each song opens a window onto a unique, deeply emotional world. It is a space “between two identities” that Dos Santos embraces naturally, turning the intimate boundary between Norway and Brazil into a creative engine and a personal narrative.

Since her debut Cleo (2017) captivated specialized critics — including Pitchfork, The Fader, and Bandcamp — Charlotte Dos Santos has established herself as a singular voice on the international stage. Her second album, Morfo (Because Music, 2022), was named among the best albums of the year by The GuardianClash, and Bandcamp, and earned her the Spellemann Award for Best R&B/Soul Album. Media outlets such as VogueBBC Radio 1WonderlandEarmilk, and Remezcla have praised her ability to unite cultures with depth, warmth, and a disarming contemporary sensibility.

Why you shouldn’t miss her: for her unique ability to transport the listener into an emotionally and musically rich universe, where every note reveals her identity between Brazil and Norway.
