After years working as a sideman with some of the most prominent musicians on the European and American jazz scenes, Simon Osuna now leads his own project, showcasing his original compositions and arrangements. This project highlights the double bass as a solo instrument within jazz, following in the footsteps of legendary bassists such as Sam Jones, Ray Brown, and Paul Chambers.
The quartet is energetic and expressive, bringing to life original compositions inspired by Osuna’s experiences in New York City. Their album Too Soon, Too Late, recorded at Pinch Studios (NY), will be released on the Fresh Sound label, establishing the group as an innovative and distinctive voice in contemporary jazz.
