Joao del Monte, also known as Chopan El 24, comes to Jamboree in an acoustic format. An evening to experience up close one of the most irreverent and multifaceted creators of Spain’s new Cuban music scene.
With El Soniquetón, he brought Cuban reparto to Spain and blended it with Spanish music, alongside artists such as Cimafunk, El Dray and Lunaki. Now he presents songs from Romántico Agresivo, his most eclectic and ambitious project, where Caribbean rhythms meet flamenco styles and the pulse of amapiano and afrobeat.
In this intimate format, the songs are stripped bare. What remains is the poetry of the lyrics, the roots of the drums and the stage presence of a showman who sings, dances and performs as if every night were his last.
Pure Afro-Gypsy funk from the heart of the Monte, this time in an acoustic setting.
