Cuban Jazz Syndicate — Rhythm and magic from the Caribbean
As their name suggests, Cuban Jazz Syndicate is an explosion of Caribbean rhythm and talent, made up mainly of musicians from Cuba and Santo Domingo. Led by the renowned Michael Olivera, the group features some of the greatest talents in contemporary Cuban jazz, such as Carlos Sarduy (trumpet) and Humberto Ríos (piano). The band also shines thanks to Alejandra López, double bassist and vocalist, whose voice and presence bring unmatched magic to the Syndicate’s sound.
Together, they create a show full of rhythm, improvisation, joy, and Caribbean energy, transporting the audience straight to the streets, colors, and sounds of the Caribbean. Following the success of their show ‘Y llegó la luz’, performed at some of Europe’s most prestigious festivals, the group is preparing to record their second album in 2026 and present a new show full of freshness, passion, and flavor.
Olivera explains: “If there’s anyone in Cuba who can’t sing, play, or dance well, they’ve been disinherited.” He also says: “We preserve the legacy of Latin jazz, from Paquito D’Rivera, Chucho Valdés, and Tito Puente. It’s incredible the importance of such a small country like ours in music, from jazz to popular and classical music. The combination of Afro-Cuban and Spanish music created a very powerful musical force.”
Why you shouldn’t miss them: because Cuban Jazz Syndicate combines rhythm, virtuosity, and Caribbean magic in a vibrant show that will transport you from Jamboree straight to the heart of the Caribbean.
