Ster Wax is Esther Ibáñez, one of the leading voices in blues, soul and rhythm & blues in Spain and Europe. Co-founder of Wax & Boogie alongside David Giorcelli, with whom she continues to work, she has represented Spain at the European Blues Challenge and brought her music to some of the circuit’s leading stages.
She is now embarking on her solo project, which she is premiering at her musical home, the Cerdanyola Blues Festival.
Having recovered from vocal cord surgery, she returns with a repertoire full of blues, rhythm & blues and soul. She leads a band featuring Héctor Martín and Manu Cano on guitars, Lucas Herrera on Hammond organ and Andreu Moreno on drums, delivering a performance full of energy and personality.
This is the story of an artist from humble beginnings who has built her career through hard work. A voice that has been put to the test and is rising again, stronger than ever.
